Isobel Star ethos

Unscripted life

Home should be beautiful, but also adaptable and resilient, embracing the rhythm of real life; children, pets, gatherings, work and quiet moments too.

Environments that meet you where you are now but also evolve with you, where beauty feels effortless and enduring, and life can be played out, enjoyed and treasured.

Places of belonging

Understanding how you use and move through your surroundings to make spaces feel natural, comfortable and effortless.

Atmosphere, emotion, flow, and every aspect are attuned to craft interiors that are not only visually charming but feel instinctively right.

Interior choreography

Real luxury is in ease and minutiae.

The way doors & windows open, how light shifts from dawn to dusk, the effortless transition between rooms, and the interplay of form, scale and materiality shape experience.

Detail is measured for functionality and aesthetic, but also for the rhythm, grace and ease it brings to daily life. This is where craftsmanship is born.

Light is colour, and colour is light

Colour has power, it can shift perception, influence mood, and define an atmosphere. Whether layering nuanced neutrals or working with bolder schemes, every factor must be considered including light, proportion, purpose, and people. Even the subtlest shade is chosen with precision, so colour is not just seen but sensed on a deeper level.

Constantly shaped by light; colour and the interior experience transforms repeatedly throughout the days and seasons. Layered lighting is essential to bring colour and form to life and manifest atmosphere. Careful lighting allows space to adapt, evolve and it creates intimacy, depth, and artistry.

Conversations in texture, pattern & form

Rooms that unfurl with intrigue, revealing subtle or unexpected layers to catch the eye in unanticipated and satisfying ways. Striving for a playful yet refined interplay of colour, texture, and pattern, where contrasts are balanced, and diversions feel graceful and intelligent and, on occasion, humorous or whimsical.

Whether through the juxtaposition of opposing textures, or by the clashing of patterns or colours that somehow complete each other, nuances that create unique personality, and moments of delight.

Unseen design

Design goes beyond the visual; it engages the senses. The touch under your fingertips, the scents that linger in the air, the acoustics of a room. Sometimes subtle, sometimes unappreciated, but the impact is usually profound.

Revealing and removing unseen elements creates exquisite space that feels intuitive and leaves a lasting impression.

a little about me….

Items designed and made with care and intention delight me, whether an architectural masterpiece, well tailored trousers, or a something like a letter opener or pen that feels lovely to hold and carries out its function perfectly. Great design and craftsmanship, in all its forms, is a lifelong fascination and brings me enormous joy.

• A dog lover to my core. I have a special fondness for Cocker Spaniels, they are particularly silly and fun, whilst also being rather lovely to look at.

• An enjoyment of the understated, the enduring, and the off beat is in my soul. Beat up old cars, vintage textiles, messy kitchens, wild gardens and anyone with distinct style or courageous individuality. I’m always here to appreciate the things, and people, with character.

I believe buildings and interiors need to be cherished but also put to good use; their stories preserved and their purpose sensitively reimagined to move with time. Finding a use for something is a way of honouring it.

• With an education and background in art & fashion, I have an innate understanding of texture, pattern, proportion, textiles and how materials interact. This influences not only how I approach interiors but also how I interpret people and personal style.

Relationships built on trust, mutual respect and discretion are the heart of what I do. I adore working with clients, artisans, suppliers and collaborators alike to create magical outcomes and enjoyable journeys.

If you have a project in mind that feels right for us to explore together, I’d love to hear from you.
